Our Chamber has reinvigorated its dedication to economic vitality and has begun measuring the business climate in Oregon City. The Chamber is reaching out to businesses to foster future economic development by understanding the local business climate today. The focus will be on business surveys and one-on-one discussions with business leaders.
Business leaders among all sectors of business and industry are invited to take part in a written or electronic survey to quantify business statistics and trends. We hope to identify local businesses’ goals for expansion, identify advantages for doing business in Oregon City and seek to understand what challenges might be ahead. All communication efforts will culminate in a call to action. “What can the Chamber of Commerce, City of Oregon City or other agencies do to make your business more successful?”
If you are business manager/owner in Oregon City and have not previously taken our SURVEY please do so now by clicking on the below link: A database has been created to identify and track open business space in Oregon City, whether it is for light industrial application, retail or small office space. Oftentimes the economic health and viability of a community is measured by the number of full vs. empty business spaces. This is not an effort to replace real estate agents and property managers; rather this is one more tool for helping businesspeople more quickly identify available properties and property owners to spend less time waiting for a new tenant.
Oregon City was identified by Metro several years ago as a 2040 Regional Center. Regional Center status provides many economic opportunities, however a Regional Center is not created overnight. In preparation for this expansion, Oregon City wishes to strengthen the employment base locally by supporting current employers and creating a more “business-friendly” experience for future employers. |
